Overview
- In our ~15 years of service to the campus, we have been overwhelmed with positive feedback and will strive to ensure this remains true for years to come. Below is a sample of direct feedback from our clients.
I worked with the TEAM lab since its first opening. It has been an absolute pleasure to work with the lab. It enhanced the surgical planning capabilities of the dentistry and oral surgery service at the VMTH and affected multiple patients in over a decade. To these days, our clinical team and the TEAM lab members are treating challenging reconstruction cases with excellent outcomes.
Steven Lucero and his team have been central to our efforts as a lab for over 15 years while at UC Davis and, now, UC Irvine. Our group is situated in the tissue-engineering space, requiring rapid prototypes from 3D printing, laser cutting for jigs required to culture our neotissues, and many other various fabrications. The TEAM lab always provides input on the designs and problems these designs are intended to solve; many times, we end up with an even better solution than originally thought of by our team. Now, with the more connected digital space and ability to Zoom at a moment's notice, the TEAM lab's commitment to service and communication has not wavered. Steven and his team always take the time to schedule meetings if needed to clarify a part or project. If there is any ever issue, the TEAM lab immediately jumps into action, providing a solution or even a new part if needed. I present this lab with a problem and our boundary conditions for the solution, and they aim to please by assisting with solving the problem using their arsenal of technologies and equipment at their disposal. I would highly recommend the TEAM lab to anybody and everybody who needs a quick, fantastic solution to any type of engineering (or other) problem. I am excited about the prospect of a second location opening up too -- it will only increase their output and timeliness on delivery of quality solutions!
My collaboration with the TEAM Lab was exceptional! As a new investigator, it has been difficult for me to find what I need on the market. Being able to work creatively together with the TEAM lab experts, in order to make exactly what I want and need, was a blessing! The TEAM lab experts were even able to quickly reverse engineer a very important piece of equipment for our studies which can no longer be found on the market! The communication has been outstanding, expectations were always set and exceeded, and the processing time has been very quick. I'm thankful for the competitive cost of working with TEAM to complete projects that are needed for me to pursue my science!-Krupa Savalia, M.D, Ph.D. Assistant Prof. Neurological Surgery and Neurology
It has been over 8 years since we began our collaboration with the TEAMs lab, initially drawn by the 3D printing services they provide to the UC Davis campus. What started with the printing of conceptual models for thermal management devices has evolved into a much deeper partnership. Over time, TEAMs lab has become an indispensable collaborator in our research projects, providing us with not only high-quality service but also invaluable knowledge and expertise. We make it a priority to involve them early in the design development stages, as their feedback is crucial to creating models that are both functional and successfully printable. The TEAMs lab has always been receptive to our input, incorporating our suggestions into their post-processing and handling of printed parts. We are extremely satisfied with their services and look forward to their continued and ever-growing contribution to our ongoing research efforts.-Erfan Rasouli, Ph.D., Research and Development Engineering at Western Cooling Efficiency Center, UCD
The Peña group has benefitted greatly from our work with the TEAM Lab. Steven has designed and build custom equipment that has allowed us to push the boundaries of our research, including microscope incubators, sample holders, and a UV LED stage-top sterilization unit. TEAM Lab staff are responsive and prompt with their support and design process. Additionally, they are committed to making sure that we are satisfied with the design, which involves collaboration and iteration before settling on a final product. We are very grateful to have this resource available on campus.
