Overview
- The TEAM lab has a long history of engagement with Undergraduate, and Graduate level education programs at UCD.
- Contact us if you are interested in hosting a course in collaboration with TEAM.
- TEAM also hosts a yearly "Makeathon" in collaboration with BMES.
- Should you or your staff benefit from additional training on the topic of design and prototype manufacturing, we can provide it on a re-charge basis.
Undergraduate and Graduate Education
The TEAM Lab plays a pivotal role in supporting the UC Davis Biomedical Engineering education program by providing students with technical guidance and access to cutting-edge design and fabrication tools. Through course integration, project advising, and senior design mentorship, the lab enhances students' practical skills in areas like 3D printing, machining, and prototyping. This experience prepares them for real-world engineering challenges, fostering innovation and bridging the gap between theoretical knowledge and practical application.
BIM1 - Introduction to BME
BIM20 - Fundamentals of Bioengineering
BIM 110 A, B, C - Senior Design
BIM177 - Introduction to Rapid Prototyping
Coming Soon: Master of Engineering in Medical Device Development - "Engineering Skills" and "Capstone Design" support.

Makeathon
The UC Davis Make-a-Thon is an annual event that challenges undergraduate student teams to apply their engineering skills in innovative and impactful ways, fostering real-world problem solving. Co-Hosted by the UC Davis Biomedical Engineering Society and TEAM, the competition encourages teams to rapidly prototype devices that address healthcare challenges, all within a 48-hour timeframe. The TEAM Lab plays a critical role in supporting participants during this intense event by providing the equipment, tools, and guiding expertise needed to turn their concepts into functioning prototypes.
